Hi to you! I am sorry to not have posted much in the past couple of weeks. Just so much is happening and the past few days have been migraine city. Both my daughter and I woke up with killer migraines this morning (a weather front just moved in) and had to cancel an appointment with a gallery that is considering taking Dawn's jewelry designs. I'm so excited for her. They are particularly impressed with the little bracelets with the coin pearls and starfish/ shells, and matching earrings in bronze or silver. They are also interested in mine, which is hugely exciting, but I don't want to steal Dawn's glory. She has worked very hard and developed great branding so Mama jumping in there doesn't feel quite right. Here's a pic of one of my creations. The colored beads are my glass art beads, created with a flame and molten glass.
It's kind of cold in Paradise. In fact it hit a record yesterday. It makes packing our bags for the two-week trip to Playa del Carmen more pleasurable. The last time I went to Mexico, over 20 years ago, we stayed in Puerto Vallarta and I hated it. There were three dead cows, miles apart on the road out of town. That is my primary memory of the trip. I can't imagine what happened to the poor critters. Anyway, we will be away from Sunday 18th to November 3 unless Transat cancels flight #2 on us. I'll try to blog from an Internet café as Don has nixed all computers while we're away.
During this trip, I want to challenge myself physically doing a few things that the mere thought of scares me. Parasailing, and perhaps ziplining are on the agenda. I won't be scuba diving because there is a difference between doing something for a thrill and doing something that would be personally dangerous. (I panic at the thought of going under water, so that's just silly.) The motivation for this is the book, Younger Next Year for Women. Challenging one's physical self this way helps the body grow younger. Don is a diver so he'll have a great time chasing all those fish.
Remember this post on Ronnie Wood and his 20-year-old "girlfriend" Ekaterina Ivanova? I don't know how I missed this one, but they split in mid-September following the police attending their place to see what the racket was about. The row apparently continued out onto the roadway, with Ronnie throwing her clothes out of the window. Ms. Ivanova was purportedly upset over her ridiculous old fart sugar daddy planning to have dinner with ex Jo Wood, who created my fave perfume, Amka. Here's a pic of Ronnie with beautiful Jo. The man must be insane.
Don says he's writing something about libido and horny goat weed. So all the people who emailed with "Where is Don?" questions, rest assured he is still alive and kicking. He's been busy with the reno, after work and at weekends, so has been pretty exhausted outside of that time.
What else can I bore you with? We have collected over 50 pair of socks for our new annual sock drive for homeless people. This city is beautiful but it sucks in terms of finding accommodation for the homeless. If everyone contributed one pair of socks or gloves, it would make a lot of people more comfortable. (They would be even more comfortable if they had real homes to live in. It makes me so mad.)
Oh yes, the arms are continuing to look worse. Seriously, I have no idea what is happening. I'm dry brushing and pinching, vacuum-suctioning, applying estriol, cream full of actives, and slathering with bio oil (as well as working out) but they aren't improving at all. I figure if I can get rid of wrinkles around the eyes, then I should be able to get rid of crepey skin on the arms. I'll update you after our trip as I intend to go at it with vengeance.
