Friday's Five: October 2, 2009

Every Friday, I pick five of the week's best products, services or ideas to have come my way this week. This week, I have a French theme going...

#1 The Hautelook Right Bank Babies sale (on now)

At times like this, I wish I had a grandchild, or even
a very large doll. How gorgeous are these little people clothes, offered at an average 60% off on Hautelook?
Crafted by Right Bank Babies, they have French c
hic written all over them. The little number shown is priced at a mere $22.

#2 Dior Bronze (which is really a blush) Palette

This gorgeous palette is really a blusher with a hint of bronze-gold in the stitch pattern. Shown is Coral Riviera, but it also comes in a pink palette called Rose Brazilia (which I have). Such a joy to use... Cost:
approx. $42.

#3 Leonor Greyl Palme
Oil for the Hair

I tried this during the week instead of the usual Burt's Bees Avocado pre-shampoo treatment, and I was impressed. You can also use it after drying your hair to tame the frizzies, or at the beach to protect your hair from the elements.Contains coprah oil, jojoba oil and vegetable extracts
. At $42, it's not cheap, but it really does soften the hair. You can find all Leonor's products at eSkinstore.com. I'm dying to try the Magnolia Oil (on special for $27.30), and the Orchid Hair Masque.

#4 French Women for
all Seasons

Another great book for Mireille Guiliano fans. You'll feel yourself becoming more French as the pages pass your fingertips. That's what I love about this author: her ability to draw you in to the whole French culture and psyche. There is also a 2010 calendar/daybook that partners French Women for all Seasons, but I don't yet have it.

#5 Gallic Traditions Website

Lots of yummy French and Belgian linens, tableware and other wonderful things for your home or picnic table from this très browsable website. I'm already saving for the
Garnier Thiebaut Mille Couleurs Tablecloth in soft blue, aqua and lilac check. Once again, not inexpensive, but something you'll have and enjoy forever.
